I called this piece How To Love because it was taken in a dark and unexpected corner of a garden. At first glance, it looked like there wasn’t much there to photograph and what was the point when there was no light! But as I looked I saw these tiny flowers. Then I moved around the bush, changing my perspective. I noticed the setting sun far off in the background and when I looked through the lens and brought the flowers into focus, the sun created a surprising amount of bright yellow light. It took as long as the sun took to set to create this photograph and I had to give time to the observation of every little element. I look many photos! And after many failed attempts, this is what happened. And I think it’s rather beautiful.
