I sat awkwardly on the footpath crouching from view, concerned the people whose house I was in front of might become suspicious of the girl with the camera. Dogs and their owners walked by, people stared. My butt got pins and needles and the ground became cold. This photo took some patience. I had to wait for just the right light and just the right refractions.

Waiting is hard. Whether you’re waiting in line for an ice cream, waiting for the right job to open up, waiting to be discovered for the incredible talent that you are, waiting for your lover to return from overseas, waiting for a lover full stop or waiting for life to be a little less difficult. Waiting is most certainly not a desired posture but if you find yourself here, may the waiting be light, may your body be held and may you know that even in the waiting, there are many opportunities for life.
